Civil Rights Leader to speak as part of MLK Day Program
The Ashland Center for Nonviolence has arranged to bring civil rights legend Rev. Dr. CT Vivian to campus for MLK Day (Jan 19) and the Honors Program is co-sponsoring the event. Rev. Dr. Vivian is truly a living legend, and this may be a chance of a lifetime opportunity for students to meet one of the original civil rights leaders (he is 88 years old). Dr. Vivian was friends with King, was into nonviolence before King was, organized some of the very early protests, and recently was awarded a presidential medal of honor by President Obama.
