Kaitlynn Winters Learns Marketing is So Much More than Selling Goods or Services in Summer Internship at Catalyst.

Kaitlynn Winters, a freshman in the Honors Program with a major in Marketing and a Minor in Public Relations spent her summer interning in the Marketing Department at Catalyst Life Services. Catalyst is a private non-profit outpatient center providing services in four areas: Mental Health & Crisis, Addiction, Vocational, Audiology and Deaf services. Kaitlynn shared, "I learned that Marketing is exponentially so much more than the act of selling a good or services because in this position I was a part of a connection, much bigger than me, between individuals and the help that they deserve. I was participating in a department that spent hours searching meticulously for members of our community who were lost or needed positive help in their lives. I got to work with people that have worked with those in our community in need of help through addiction, mental health, employment, or even audiology services for years. My eyes were opened to the fact that my heart and passion has always been in this field of motivating and leading our community to a brighter future.

Kaitlynn was inspired to see people who had fallen behind and become lost, come out on the other side of their battle and begin to thrive. At Catalyst, the community within their organization is strong and naturally promotes growth outside the organization as well. "I am so grateful to have been a part of that change," Katelyn wrote. She plans to take what she learned in her internship and continue developing her skills as a communicator so that she can confidently create a community of positivity around her that will lead to development and a sense of compatibility between organizations and individuals.
